Why I Almost Quit Coaching - And Why I Didn’t
In May, I went to Morocco with one question on my mind:
Do I keep coaching, or do I walk away?
It wasn’t that I was burnt out exactly, but I was stuck in a loop, feeling like I was doing everything I knew to do—but nothing was clicking. Every other business I had was thriving, but this one? It felt like I was shouting into the void. No matter how much I poured into it, something felt off.
I was called to this work after it saved me—this coaching thing wasn’t part of my original plan. And even though everything in me was telling me to quit, deep down, I knew I couldn’t just walk away.
Coaching wasn’t just a job.
It wasn’t even just a passion.
It was my purpose.
I felt it in my bones.
So, I went to Morocco to make that decision. Came home and decided to keep on keeping on and give it a solid year with this new business strategy.
(This month is that one-year mark.)
But what I was experiencing was so much deeper than simply deciding whether to quit or not. It just hit me. I was stuck in my karmic cycle, seeking validation from everyone and everything around me instead of trusting myself.
I wanted my business to show me that I was worthy, but that’s not how it works.
For years, I’d been doing things to prove my worth, but it wasn’t until just last week, that finding two unused bars of soap from Morocco that the lesson really hit me.
I’d been saving them, thinking I wasn’t worthy of using them. But why?
Why wasn’t I worthy of using them now? That’s the same lesson I needed to apply to my business:
I’m worthy now. Not someday. Not after the next big launch. Right now.
Mic. Drop. Pop Champagne. Holy F. What was I waiting for?
That moment helped me see the missing piece in my business. I was searching for external validation when the magic was always inside me. And it hit me: I’m not just someone who manages chaos; I’m someone who helps people be seen and heard—without needing any external validation. That’s what coaching is for me: showing up as your true, unapologetic self, worthy right now.
Coaching isn’t about getting rich or taking the easy route—it’s my calling. And I’m here for the long haul.
Also... if you're in it for a quick buck, you should probably quit and sell something else. You’ll make more money faster.
It’s funny how life works. I can see these patterns in my life now, and I’m ready to shift. I’m ready to embrace the next chapter of my business, one that resonates with all of us who’ve ever been stuck in a cycle of seeking approval.
So, here’s the key takeaway for today:
YOU'RE FUCKING WORTHY NOW.
No more waiting for someone else to tell you. You don’t have to prove it to anyone, least of all yourself. You are worthy of everything you want right now. The journey is just about uncovering it and stepping into it.
There’s so much more to come. I’m ready to share it with you. Thank you for being here and for going on this ride with me.
With love,
Karissa Dean
