Choosing Liberation: Unveiling Your Wings of Freedom

I vividly recall the days when my gaze was always upward, a perpetual search for love and approval. I meticulously navigated through life, one step ahead, overly considerate of others, living for their affirmation. Looking back, those were floundering years, a girl trying desperately to fit in and be good.

My journey was a series of well-intentioned but perhaps misguided choices. I played sports because a neighborhood friend's dad coached the team, then switched to dancing when that became the new influence. Responsibility found me early, babysitting at eleven, trying to fit into societal expectations and norms.

Fast forward through college, marriage right after, and a seemingly responsible life, yet I was still lost, unsure of my true desires amid societal projections. The pattern persisted, inhibiting my ability to trust and truly know myself. It took me until now, at 36, to realize it's safe to choose myself. I don't have to conform or live by others' expectations. I can say no, I can pause, and most importantly, I can choose me.

As I unraveled the constraints of the 'good girl' persona, I discovered that the little girl within me yearned for freedom. Back then, I sought wings from external sources, only to realize now that true freedom comes from within. It's about creating boundaries, flexing our independent muscles, and deciding what truly resonates with our authentic selves.

Freedom materializes when we find our voice, speak our truth, and embrace vulnerability. It's about cracking our hearts wide open, allowing ourselves to feel deeply and, in doing so, discovering the ability to fly. The realization hit me hard—I spent too much time waiting for the right mentor, coach, or program, always seeking external validation. Now, it's time to break free from the shackles of waiting, to speak my truth, and to fly.

The path to freedom, I've learned, lies within. Choosing ourselves on the deepest levels and peeling back layers even when uncomfortable is the key. Freedom isn't sustainable until we've flexed enough or cultivated a deep, lasting love for ourselves.

As I write this, I can honestly say, 90% of the time, I am in love with myself. I embrace my flaws with compassion and curiosity, constantly seeking to understand why I hold back. I share this not to boast but to inspire because you deserve to feel good. Your journey might look different, but the core message remains—choose yourself and commit to the practice of self-love and freedom.
